Product Safety

SnapCab prides itself in its ongoing commitment to product safety. As a result of taking safety so seriously, we have ensured that SnapCab elevator interiors are safe to use for passengers and maintenance technicians.

Air Quality

SnapCab conducts third-party testing to validate the air quality for the users of our products. SnapCab is a CARB Phase 2 manufacturer. CARB Phase 1 and Phase 2 are part of California's Composite Wood Products Regulation which has to do with reducing formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, hardwood plywood, particleboard, and medium density fiberboard.

Additionally, SnapCab is GREENGUARD Gold certified. GREENGUARD Certification, part of the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Environment, ensures that manufacturers create interior products and materials with low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used.

Our most recent testing results conducted in 2019, indicate Formaldehyde and VOC levels present are 18 and 45 times below the maximum 8-hour exposure limit guidelines provided in OSHA and the California Department of Public Health, respectively.

Personal Safety

SnapCab’s products are Elevator Code E-84 compliant, per ASME A17.1-2010 and UL specifications. Compliance involves rigorous flammability and smoke development testing as well as safety in use requirements. Click here to view our Fire Rating Summary.

All SnapCab ceilings are made with access to the canopy exit hatch, allow for ventilation around the perimeter, and offer a battery backup option for all light fixtures. Handrails and bumpers are mounted during the manufacturing process and tested for stability before leaving the SnapCab facility, making them the most secure in the industry.

Our team has expertly developed an elevator interior system designed to be low weight, allowing the use of fewer materials while still maintaining the highest strength standards. SnapCab’s creative construction design is flexible enough to suit the unique dimensions and requirements of each elevator we work on. Click here to view our Weight Chart.
